Getting Started
MokaFive LivePC™ virtual machines allow you to run different operating systems and applications independently from your host computer. You can run legacy software on a new system or keep your work applications separated from your home environment.
Windows Desktop
Installation

If you haven't yet, download the Windows Desktop Player installer.

Run the installer on any computer running Windows XP SP2 or Vista. You will need a minimum of 1 GB of memory on your machine.
NOTE: MokaFive™ Player will not work inside a Virtual Machine
Monitor (VMM) such as VMware or Parallels.
Select 'Install on this computer' for 'Setup Type'.

Using Player

Launch Player
Click on the 'Start' Menu, in 'Applications' select the 'MokaFive' folder and click 'MokaFive Player'.

Start a LivePC™ virtual machine
Once the MokaFive™ Player is up and running, click the 'Play' button on a LivePC™ virtual machine to start it. After you click play the LivePC™ virtual machine will launch. This may take several minutes on slower machines, just as it takes longer for the host machine to boot.

Suspend vs Shutdown
When you're done using a LivePC™ virtual machine you can shut it down by selecting the operating system's shutdown option from within the LivePC, or by clicking the 'Stop' button in the MokaFive™ Player.
To 'pause' the LivePC™ virtual machine (also referred to as suspend), click the 'X' button in the top right corner of the LivePC™ window (VMware Player window).

Rejuvenation
All MokaFive LivePC™ virtual machines come equipped with a 'rejuvenation' feature that can automatically restore the LivePC's system files without losing your user data. If you contract a virus or otherwise need to 'rejuvenate' your system you can use the 'stop' button for the LivePC™ virtual machine and then start it again. If it is suspended you can click on the 'revert' icon.

Managed cache mode
Lose the tether. MokaFive LivePC™ virtual machines feature can be cached locally, allowing you to continue to use your centrally managed system anywhere. Simply uncheck 'Managed cache mode' and make sure the LivePC image does not have a download bar.

Using Player

Insert the USB portable storage device into a host computer.
Launch Player on an Intel based Mac OS X computer (with VMware Fusion previously installed). Double click on the MokaFive.app icon inside the USB device.
Launch Player on a Windows XP or Vista computer. If the removable device does not auto launch you will need to manually start MokaFive™ Player. Click on the Windows 'Start', go to 'My Computer', and click on the MokaFive icon.

Note: It is best to shutdown when you will be removing your portable storage device and running it on another computer.

Safely Remove USB Drive
Eject on Mac OS X: Before removing your portable storage device click click the eject symbol beside the drive in a finder window or drag the drive from your desktop to the trash can.
Eject on Windows: Before removing your portable storage device click on the 'Safely Remove Hardware' system tray icon in the lower right hand of the Windows desktop, and select the USB drive you want to unplug. You will then be informed it is safe to remove the removable device.

The file should automatically unzip onto your desktop or into your downloads directory, if not double click MokaFivePlayer.dmg to unzip the file. Open the MokaFivePlayer disk image and drag the Player icon onto the Applications folder on an Intel based Mac running Mac OS X. You will need a minimum of 1 GB of memory on your machine.
NOTE 1: MokaFive Player for OS X requires VMware Fusion to be previously installed on the host Mac computer.
NOTE 2: MokaFive™ Player will not work inside a Virtual Machine
Monitor (VMM) such as VMware or Parallels.

BareMetal - hard drive installation

You have just downloaded the BareMetal hard drive MokaFive Player CD image. It can either be installed as the primary operating system on your computer or as a dual-boot install. You will need to burn an install CD. Please see the manual for full details on installing BareMetal.

Getting started with Project Monitor for iPhone or USB
Use your iPhone as a storage device with iPhone Monitor or protect your USB drives from premature failure with USB Monitor. USB drives can fail from being unplugged while in use, and simply from excessive reading and writing. Installing our Project Monitor on your USB drive or iPhone should:
- prevent you from losing data due to an accidental unplug,
- optimize writing to the drive so your drive lasts longer,
- and improve performance, especially when operating on smaller files.
Windows iPhone Monitor
You have just downloaded the Project iPhone Monitor technology preview. To experience the protection of Project iPhone Monitor:
- Download and run iPhone Monitor.
- Plug your iPhone into your computer using the USB cable.
- Follow the onscreen instructions to set up your iPhone as a disk drive.

Getting started with MokaFive™ Management Console
MokaFive Management Console Service allows IT administrators to create their own private LivePC™ virtual machine site where they can manage users and their LivePC™ images. You will be able to add and remove users and manage which LivePC™ images they can access. If an employee leaves the company or loses their USB LivePC™ virtual machines you can kill their access quickly with MokaFive Service. For more information on using MokaFive Service please contact our sales team.
MokaFive Creator allows you to make LivePC virtual machines running different operating systems and applications independently. You can create a LivePC image to run legacy software on a new system or keep your work applications separated from your home environment.
Create a LivePC in just a few steps. You can make variations of existing LivePC™ virtual machines by simply adding or removing software or you can configure a LivePC™ image from scratch installing exactly the operating system and applications you need. Simply choose whether to work from an existing LivePC™ image, a template, a package, or CD. Once created, you can run the LivePC™ virtual machine to add software and customize it. Package and upload the LivePC™ image in a single step to MokaFive.com and you are ready to share it. If you wish to update software or apply patches make your changes, then upload only those changes and all your users will get them automatically.

Getting started with MokaFive™ Guest Tools
You have just downloaded the Windows MokaFive Guest Tools.
NOTE: MokaFive™ Guest Tools are automatically installed when using the unattended install option when creating a new Windows XP LivePC™ virtual machine. (The unattended install option is not available for the Mac OS Platform.) MokaFive™ Guest Tools are available for those who chose to create a LivePC manually. NOTE: We highly recommend using our unattended install to create Windows XP LivePC™ images. During an unattended install folder sharing is supported automatically. The 'My Documents' folder in the guest is shared with the LivePC 'Local Documents' for the LivePC™ virtual machine on the host. If you do not do an unattended install the MokaFive™ Guest Tools allows for shared folders in Windows XP SP2 LivePC™ appliances.
